“I found no weaknesses. Mary Pat is an engaging speaker, and possesses such a love for what she does, and that is evident in her presentations,” wrote one workshop participant. “The variety of topics was presented for all age levels and you could see how to incorporate it into your own grade level/specialty.”
Through prayerful discernment, the Institute and Mary Pat have decided to take a walk of faith: In July, Mary Pat will join the Institute as our first full-time Director of School Services. Mary Pat will now be widely available for workshops, consultation, public speaking, and webinars.
We believe that the time is ripe for this step. St. Jerome’s witness and the Institute’s labors
have helped establish classical liberal arts education as an attractive and viable form of Catholic education. More and more parents and pastors, principals and superintendents are taking notice.
Mary Pat is excited about this opportunity: “I am humbled and honored to join the Institute as its Director for School Services. The Institute provided support, guidance, and inspiration to me as a new principal tasked with transitioning a parochial school in crisis to the Catholic classical approach.
“I have been the grateful recipient of a gift that breathed new life into a dying school, but also deepened my faith and drew me closer to Christ, the Divine Teacher,” she added. “Together with my colleagues at the ICLE, I look forward to sharing this gift with Catholic educators across the country. In my new role, I hope to offer support to schools as they reimagine their mission in light of the Church's rich heritage and intellectual tradition.
“After 25 years as a teacher and administrator in Catholic schools , I am eager to serve the
educational mission of the Church in this new and exciting venture. I am thankful to Michael Van Hecke, Andrew Seeley, and the Institute 's Board of Directors for inviting me to join this talented and faithful team of educators.”
